As I lie here on a plush bed on a sunny Sunday afternoon in a boutique hotel in the south of France, pretty shuttered window ajar, a cool summer breeze caressing my recently sun-beaten skin, and the bells of a nearby medieval church sounding a forte, disjointed chime, I reflect on my past week here. And I suddenly feel what I haven’t felt in a long time: inspiration. I immediately whip out my laptop from my backpack. The slick material feels unnaturally cold in my hands despite the heat of the afternoon, perhaps from being left undisturbed for a whole seven days.
